The Botany Bay Yacht Club was founded in 1964, since then it has been actively promoting the sport of sailing.

Welcome to the Botany Bay Yacht Club! We're a volunteer sailing club, racing and cruising keel boats on the enclosed waters of Botany Bay, Kogarah Bay and the Georges River.


Australia Day 2018 - book now for dinner

The 182nd Australia Day Regatta will be sailed on Friday 26 January 2018. This will be a handicap start for a flying finish in Kogarah Bay. Race entries must be in by 10:30am. A catamaran, Bob, blitzed the fleet in 2017 - will they make it a double in 2018?!

Members and their guests are invited to join us for dinner and front row seats to the 9pm fireworks over Kogarah Bay. Steak, salad & desert for $20 and the bar open till late - bookings essential.

Twilight Sailing - Friday evenings

The best way to start your weekend - a sunset sail in the sheltered waters of Kogarah Bay and the Georges River. Races start at 6:30pm. Come up to the Clubhouse after for drinks & our popular steak & salad.

New crew welcome - please complete contact details and risk warning before your first sail. Contact us to be matched with a skipper and plan to be at the Club at least an hour before the race start.

First twilight of the new year is 19 Jan 2018.

Congratulations to Fred & Judi, Miss Behavin are spring twilight champions (20 pts). Close racing with Tic Tacs second and Miss Concepcion third, both with 21 pts.

Endeavour National Championships 2018

There was close racing at Gosford Sailing Club in variable conditions with some great kite runs at 8+kts - close to hull speed! Father & son Grant & Kyle with Freddie & Dave sailed to victory in the E26 division. Congratulations Kokomo E26 scratch champions 2018! Wundurra took 4th with 8 points.

The BBYC is delighted to host the 2019 Endeavour Championships, it'll be a special year celebrating 50 years of the production of the Endeavour 26.

Saturday Afternoon Racing - Spring Series

Races held on Botany Bay every Saturday afternoon starting at 13:30. The summer series will be back each Saturday from 20 Jan.

Congratulations team Stockade, spring series champions with just 18 points. It was a very hotly contested series, with 3 yachts equal second on 21 points. Well sailed all and thanks to our Race Secretary and starters for a fantastic series.

Cruising division - last weekend in Jan

Join us to cruise in company on the last Sunday each month. We're planning an overnight cruise the 27 & 28 Jan, check out our cruising facebook page for more info.

Volunteers wanted!

Want to spend some Saturday afternoons on Botany Bay? We're looking for volunteers to assist with racing on our shark cat. Training provided. Please contact Peter on 0414 320 134.

Membership 2017/18

New members welcome! Fees are the same great rates as 2016/17, $250 for ordinary membership - which works out at less than $5 a week. Its just $130 for crew members!

Want to discover sailing? Its free to try crewing - you just need to complete your contact details and agree to the risk warning before your first sail.

Tender Use
