The Botany Bay Yacht Club was founded in 1964, since then it has been actively promoting the sport of sailing.

The club is a not-for-profit company – run by members for members.

Welcome to the Botany Bay Yacht Club! We're a volunteer sailing club, racing and cruising keel boats on the enclosed waters of Botany Bay, Kogarah Bay and the Georges River.

Saturday Afternoon Racing - Spring Series

We are deeply saddened and shocked following the death of member and dear friend Peter Lees after a tragic accident. We offer our deepest sympathies to Jodie and the rest of Peter's family. Peter has sailed with the Club for many years. In addition to winning many trophies onboard Wundurra, Peter was recognised as crew member of the year in 2011.

Details about the funeral arrangements will be emailed to members.

Cruising division - Sun 24 Sept

Join us to cruise in company on the last Sunday of each month, meet up 9:30/ 10am and back up at the clubhouse late afternoon, adjourning to the balcony of knowledge for a quiet little drink. Plans will be confirmed on the weekend, depending on the weather forecast.

General Meeting - 7pm Weds 27 September

The next general meeting willl be held at the Club on Wednesday 27 September starting at 7pm. We welcome guest speaker Adam Denyer, Boating Services Officer to talk about water safety with a flare demo (subject to permission).

NSW State Titles - Australian Sports Boat Association

We're looking forward to welcoming ASBA for their 2017 NSW State Titles on Sat 30 Sept & Sun 1 Oct. See the ABSA event page for more details:

Blue Book 2017/18 is here!

Members please pick up your copy of the new Blue Book from the Clubhouse including the racing and cruising event calendar for 2017/18, the Club's racing rules and member contact details.

Saturday Afternoon Racing - Spring Series

New crew welcome, email us your contact details and we'll give you a call and match you with a skipper.

No race 30 September due to the long weekend.

Reminder: all competing yachts need to complete an annual safety audit in spring and provide a copy of racing insurance. Complete the checklist and contact Warren B, Terry or Brian T to arrange a time for an inspection. Spring races start at 13:30.

Race your way - enter the whole year, a single series or per race.

Membership 2017/18

New members welcome! Fees are the same great rates as 2016/17, $250 for ordinary membership - which works out at less than $5 a week or about the same as seeing one movie a month. Its just $130 for crew members!

Want to discover sailing? Its free to try crewing - you just need to complete your contact details and agree to the risk warning before your first sail.

Working Bee - Sat 2 Sept

Thanks to all our amazing volunteers who did a big spring clean of the boat yard, fixed the flagpole, painted and did numerous minor repairs to make the Club ship shape for the new sailing season.

Twilight Sailing - starts Fri 6 October

Summer Friday twilight racing is held during daylight saving. The 2017/18 series starts again in October.

Tender Use

The Club provides a tender for transport to and from vessels on the Club’s register in Kogarah Bay, see the Tender Use Policy.
 The tender may be driven by members on weekends (from 4pm Friday) and public holidays.
 Priority must be given to vessels participating in Club events, including racing, regattas and cruising division activities (see Blue Book).
 Fast turnaround is required. The tender may not be left tied to a vessel or mooring
